To do right by your WOLF trim-board\u00a0when you paint it, keep these tips\u00a0in mind:<\/span><\/strong>MAKE SURE THE SURFACE\u00a0IS SQUEAKY CLEAN.<\/p>\n

Clean the tailboard with a mild detergent\u00a0and water or denatured alcohol\u00a0before you start painting. The surface\u00a0should be clean, dry, and free of:<\/p>\n

  • Loose or peeling paint<\/li>\n
  • Chalk<\/li>\n
  • Grease<\/li>\n

    GET TOUGH ON MOLD AND MILDEW.<\/h3>\n

    Before you paint, use a mixture of three\u00a0parts water and two parts bleach to\u00a0remove any signs of mold or mildew on\u00a0your trim-board.<\/p>\n

    LIGHTEN UP.<\/h3>\n

    If you\u2019ve painted your trim-board a\u00a0dark color, you must remove that dark\u00a0hue before applying a lighter-colored\u00a0paint (which should have an LRV of at\u00a0least 55 units).<\/p>\n

    PREPARE TO USE A PRIMER.<\/h3>\n

    Paint manufacturers will typically require\u00a0a primer to be used if the homeowner\u00a0wants the paint warranty.<\/p>\n

    BE PATIENT!<\/h3>\n

    Realize that paint, depending on outdoor\u00a0temperatures, humidity, and other factors,\u00a0may take up to 30 days to fully cure.<\/p>\n
