Not only does it matter for learning what customers want from a design and functional standpoint, it also allows you to assess:<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p5\"><span style=\"color: #488ba6;\">Their overall demeanor (relaxed and easy-going or demanding and stressed)<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"p5\"><span style=\"color: #488ba6;\">How they would like you to communicate with them (e.g., phone call, text, or email)<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"p5\"><span style=\"color: #488ba6;\">How involved they want to be in the process (for instance, how often they want status updates)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #658c64;\"><b>2. Remember that it\u2019s more than just \u201ca job\u201d to your customers.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Resist viewing a customer\u2019s project as \u201cjust another job.\u201d It may be one of many on your schedule, but to the homeowner, it\u2019s a big deal.
