HABIT #4:
\n<\/strong><\/span>THINK WIN-WIN\u00ae<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Covey\u2019s fourth habit encourages people to focus on cooperation rather than competition.<\/p>\n

When you, your customers, and vendors work together to create a situation that\u00a0 <\/span>is beneficial to all involved, it leads to greater productivity and satisfaction all around. Win-win scenarios are a multi-way street. Sometimes, the best option may be to walk away if another party is not willing to meet you in the middle.<\/p>\n

HABIT #5:
\n<\/strong><\/span><\/b><\/span><\/b>SEEK FIRST TO UNDERSTAND, THEN TO BE UNDERSTOOD\u00ae<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Covey\u2019s fifth habit addresses how critical good listening skills are.<\/p>\n

By becoming a better listener, you can help avoid or de-escalate tricky customer situations. For example, if a homeowner is upset because their deck project is on a two-week delay, consider giving the\u00a0 customer your full attention\u2014rather\u00a0 than quickly becoming defensive\u2014as they share their disappointment. Then, acknowledge their feelings, explain (don\u2019t make excuses!), and propose a\u00a0 resolution. After being heard fully, the customer may be more understanding.<\/p>\n

HABIT #6: \"\" <\/a>
\n<\/strong><\/span> <\/b><\/b>SYNERGIZE\u00ae \u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

This sixth habit involves the concept \u201ctwo heads are better than one.\u201d<\/p>\n

Think about the importance of teamwork in your business. It\u2019s not very practical for one person to design and build a fence or deck entirely by themselves, is it?<\/p>\n

Through sharing ideas, collaborating on processes, and cooperating to get\u00a0the job done, we (our team and our\u00a0 customers) can get better results.<\/p>\n
